2025 Fee Information:
$150 per hour for individual therapy. HST is not applicable for services provided by Registered Psychotherapists. Sliding scale fee options are available based on individual circumstances. Please reach out to discuss this option if cost is a concern.
Professional Experience:
Joseph’s journey into mental health work began at a distress center, where he gained valuable experience assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds who were facing significant emotional and mental health challenges. This hands-on experience taught him how to build rapport quickly, provide crisis support, and offer interventions for those experiencing suicidal ideation, acute distress, or loneliness.
In his clinical internship at the From Intention to Action (FITA) program at Carleton University, Joseph supported students with a variety of issues, including depression, grief, trauma, ADHD, and interpersonal conflict. Through this experience, he honed his skills in addressing academic stress, supporting students through life transitions, and helping clients develop coping strategies to balance academic and personal challenges.
Joseph also has experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including individuals facing financial hardship, students navigating academic pressures, and people coping with past trauma. His clinical skills include active listening, trauma-informed care, and applying evidence-based modalities to address the full range of emotional and relational challenges.

He uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and narrative techniques to reframe negative thought patterns, increase emotional awareness, and work toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
- Low Self-Confidence & Self-Esteem: Joseph works with clients to identify and challenge negative self-talk, while focusing on strengths and past successes. He uses a strength-based approach to enhance self-esteem and self-compassion, empowering clients to build a healthier relationship with themselves.
- Grief and Loss: Joseph creates a space where clients can process grief, validate their feelings of loss, and explore healthy coping mechanisms. He integrates approaches such as Grief Therapy, EFT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide clients through the mourning process, with the goal of healing and finding meaning after loss.
- Trauma: Joseph is experienced in working with clients who have experienced various forms of trauma, including relational trauma, abuse, and major life events. He uses a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, integrating techniques such as ACT, EFT, and mindfulness to help clients process trauma, reduce its impact, and move toward healing.
- Motivation & Procrastination: Joseph helps clients overcome barriers to motivation by exploring the underlying causes of procrastination and unfulfilled goals. Education & Training:
Joseph holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience from McMaster University. His academic background provides a strong foundation in the psychological principles that inform his therapeutic practice.
