Jessica Fraser is joining our clinic for her clinical placement from September 2025 to May 2026, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to the team. Currently completing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Waterloo, Jessica brings not only academic excellence but also real-world experience as a Registered Social Worker (RSW).
Jessica offers individual therapy for adults (18+), supporting clients through a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, health-related stress, and life transitions. Her approach is integrative and person-centered, combining evidence-based practices with deep empathy and clinical insight. She creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
Outside of the therapy room, Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying active through volleyball—bringing balance and connection into both her personal and professional life.
Fee Information:
Jessica offers therapy at a reduced clinical intern rate of $80 per session, with sliding scale options available as low as $35, depending on financial and personal circumstances. Clinical services provided by RSWs are not subject to tax.
Receipts include the license number of Jessica’s clinical supervisor, Bruno Jung-Millen, MSW, RSW (OCSWSSW 837354), allowing clients to claim fees through insurance.
Professional Experience:
Jessica Fraser is an experienced social worker with extensive experience supporting individuals and families through complex health, mental health, and social challenges. Her work spans community health, hospital discharge planning, addictions recovery, and mental health outreach, all grounded in a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
In her current role at Carefor Health & Community Services, Jessica provides therapeutic support to clients and their families navigating the emotional and practical impacts of illness, disability, and aging. She conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessments, facilitates care planning, and implements client-centered interventions to address issues such as caregiver burnout, adjustment to illness, intergenerational family conflict, and end-of-life decision-making. Her work includes advocacy, resource navigation, and emotional support, ensuring clients feel empowered and informed throughout their care journey.
Jessica also works with CommuniCare Therapy, where she supports clients transitioning home after hospitalization. She helps individuals and families navigate the healthcare system, connect with community resources, and develop care plans that promote independence and emotional wellbeing. Her role emphasizes system navigation, informed decision-making, and collaborative care with other service providers.
Previously, at Somerset West Community Health Centre, Jessica provided crisis intervention, intake assessments, and case coordination in both walk-in and community settings. She worked closely with clients experiencing mental health challenges, substance use, and housing instability, offering harm reduction support and practical assistance. Her work was deeply rooted in community engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing her to respond effectively to diverse and urgent client needs.
As an Addictions Counsellor with the Salvation Army’s Stabilization Treatment Program, Jessica supported individuals in early recovery through therapeutic group work, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioural interventions. She conducted intake assessments, developed treatment plans, and provided crisis and brief counselling, helping clients set and achieve meaningful goals in their recovery journey.
Jessica’s clinical foundation was further strengthened through her practicum with Nova Scotia Correctional Services, where she conducted pre-sentence assessments, facilitated rehabilitation planning, and participated in restorative justice initiatives. She also co-developed and facilitated the STOPLift Program, a community-based initiative focused on education, prevention, and reintegration for justice-involved individuals.
Across all her roles, Jessica has demonstrated a deep commitment to ethical, client-centered care. Her ability to build trust, navigate complex systems, and deliver compassionate support makes her a valuable clinician and a strong advocate for those she serves.

- Justice-Involved Support and Reintegration: Drawing from her experience in correctional services, Jessica supports individuals navigating probation, reintegration, and restorative justice processes, with a focus on rehabilitation and community connection.

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is currently completing her Master of Social Work (MSW).
