Jake (he/him) is one of our Associate Clinicians, supporting individuals with a variety of psychosocial concerns. He is a registered social worker and psychotherapist in good standing with the OCSWSSW (836527). Jake is an empathetic and approachable clinician who enjoys working with children, youth, and adults, using a collaborative, evidence-based approach to help clients build on their existing skills and achieve their goals.
Fee Information:
$170 per hour for individual therapy, including sessions with children and parents. A sliding scale fee may be available at certain times. Taxes do not apply to clinical services provided by RSWs. Psychotherapy sessions with Jake are covered by most insurance companies; please verify with your provider. Direct billing is available for all insurance providers except Sun Life.
COI Statement:
If your child attends a school within the Western Québec School Board, it is important that you collaborate with Jake prior to scheduling your child’s first session to mitigate any potential conflict of interest. Depending on which school your child attends, Jake may not be able to provide clinical services due to his ongoing commitment at the school board (particularly if he is providing or has provided clinical services at your child’s school).

Professional Experience:
Jake is an experienced mental health professional currently working as a school social worker, where he collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to support students and families navigating complex mental health, behavioral, and academic challenges. In this role, he provides individualized support, develops intervention plans, and coordinates with teachers, caregivers, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to student well-being. His work emphasizes evidence-based strategies, early intervention, and fostering resilience in children and adolescents facing emotional or behavioral difficulties.
Previously, Jake practiced as a mental health counselor for children and teens, where he honed a collaborative, client-centered approach to psychotherapy. He is skilled in addressing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and social-emotional development, tailoring interventions to meet each individual’s unique needs. Jake also works closely with parents and caregivers, providing guidance, psychoeducation, and practical strategies to support healthy development, positive relationships, and overall well-being for the whole family.
Education & Training:
Jake holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Carleton University and an Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. His educational background provides a strong foundation in understanding human development, behavior, and the complex interplay between physical, emotional, and social well-being.
In addition to his formal education, Jake has completed extensive professional training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused ACT (TF-ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). He has also received specialized training in supporting young people with ADHD, giving him the tools to tailor interventions to meet each individual’s unique needs.
This combination of academic knowledge, clinical training, and hands-on experience enables Jake to provide compassionate, collaborative, and effective support for children, youth, and adults facing a wide range of psychosocial challenges.
Professional or Clinical Memberships:
Jake maintains an active professional membership with the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW). He is also a registered member of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Quebec (OTSTCFQ), the regulating body for social workers in Quebec.
Clinical Supervision:
Jake is currently receiving ongoing external clinical supervision and participates in peer group consultation for professional development.
